Welcome To Buddha Roc

Beach Resort

Welcome to Buddha Roc, perched 200 feet above Playa Marsella on top of a cliff between Playa Marsella and Playa Maderas. This tropical paradise is close enough to the ocean to hear the soothing sounds of the surf below and high enough to offer spectacular panoramic 360 degree views of up to 40 miles:including of the entire majestic Marsella valley, surrounding hillsides, and even Costa Rica. The vistas from this resort are simply breathtaking and must be seen to be believed! Over $500,000 of upgrades, renovations and construction were completed in November 2018 to ensure that the guest experience combines the tropical resort like feel with every amenity and comfort one could want.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our check in time is at 2:00PM. If you arrive earlier and your room is still being prepared for your stay, we are happy to store your luggage while you relax by the pool or go explore the surrounding area. We have bathrooms and changing rooms with showers by the pool.

If you need transportation, we can pre-arrange door to door service for you with one of our trusted transportation services who will make your comfort and safety their top priority. We do not have 24 hr reception but we do have 24 hour security. Our security guard will show you to your room upon arrival. It is important that you provide us with your flight information so we can make sure we are ready for a late arrival. The airport in Managua is a scenic beautiful 2.5 hr drive.

Free parking and complimentary Nica-American breakfast are available to all our overnight guests according to the guest/fee schedule.

Let us know your Airline, flight number, day and time of arrival and departure and we will arrange private transportation to and from the airports to the hotel. The cost is $90 each way from Augusto C. Sandino International Airport in Managua. Inquire for pricing from Costa Rica.

Please bring a few items with you or stop in San Juan Del Sur which is the town that is 15 minutes away on your way to Buddha Roc to get cash from the ATM or supplies at the supermarket like food, beverages, sunscreen, bug spray and a flashlight. There are a few small markets that are close by but have a much more limited selection.

Complimentary Nica-American breakfasts are available to all our overnight guests according to the guest/fee schedule. Non-hotel guests can order off the menu. We offer Dinner from December through April with Sushi Sabado every other Saturday Night. Soft drinks, alcoholic beverages and water jugs are available for purchase. We have several local restaurants within walking distance for walk-in service or delivery.

Casa Oro Shuttle runs a shuttle between Playa Maderas and San Juan Del Sur a few times each day. Prices are $3 one way or $5 round trip To SJDS (town): 8:15 AM \~ 10:45 AM \~ 1:00 PM \~ 3:30 PM \~ 5:00 PM From SJDS (town): 7:30 AM \~ 10:00 AM \~ 12:00 PM \~ 2:30 PM \~ 4:00 PM

A 4×4 is recommended. We are located on a cliff overlooking the beach at the highest point in the area. This makes for breathtaking 360 degree views in all directions for 50 miles but it also means a steep hill to get to Buddha Roc. We are located in a cluster of small boutique hotels who chose this location because of it’s beauty and views. It is a rural area with dirt roads that can get bumpy especially during the green season when it rains an hour a day. We can help you rent a 4×4 truck or a Raptor/ATV which are practical and fun. Cars do access Buddha Roc all the time but 4 x 4 vehicles make it easier.
